UWC in Switzerland

The global UWC organization

The headquarters of UWC International are situated in London. The International Board and the UWC Council are responsible for the management of UWC International which coordinates the work of the various working commissions and the almost 150 national committees for the UWCs.

The schools themselves are largely independent and are usually headed by supervisory bodies. At the international level, the individual schools are coordinated by the UWC International Office. The President of the UWC movement is Queen Nūr of Jordan and the honorary president was Nobel Peace Prize laureate Nelson Mandela.

At the national level, the respective country committees are responsible for the selection of the pupils and the funding of scholarships. They also represent the interests of UWC and link their alumni together.

Thanks to UWC, young people are being trained as international bridge builders that our world needs more than ever before.

The Swiss UWC organization

The UWC Swiss Association is the national representation of UWC in Switzerland. The association is independent and non-profit. It is supervised by a voluntary board and supervised by a patronage committee.

The UWC Swiss Association performs various tasks, for example the selection of Swiss scholarship holders. If necessary, scholarships are awarded to cover the school fee. In addition, the association provides a platform for alumni and represents the interests of UWC in Switzerland.

Besides organizing the annual selection procedure for Swiss pupils, an annual meeting is held for all members of the association. The association also links together former UWC students and represents the interests of UWC in Switzerland.
